Have been crazily busy with my career transition to be a photographer/director. After last blog in September, my computer has been piling up with inspirational images that I've been collecting. Ok...back in gear and enjoy, folks!

Three different photographers on a theme called "Paper and Skin". They are Marc Phibert, Laurent Darmon and Christian Kettiger (in the right order with the photos above). These were featured in S magazine (Issue 5). Beautiful mirroring style. These remind me of Jan Saudek's work but much softer.

It's 3 in the morning. Having trouble in falling asleep. Staying in for 5 days straight in my dimly lit apartment after my second lasik surgery completely messed up my sleeping schedule. I was ordered not to open my eyes for this whole period and just to rest for speedy recovery. I think I over caught-up with my sleep and I exhausted all my audio books a couple of times. The surgery was quick-about 20 seconds this time on my left eye. My left eye always has some double vision since my first surgery last year. It's quite minor but it's my dominant eye that I shoot my pictures with. In the usual circumstance, surgeons would not perform such minor adjustment with this risk. But it's my "money-making eye" that giving me trouble in the manual focus department. Fortunately my surgeon Dr. Emil Chynn is an aspiring photographer who understood the difficulty in "switching the shooting eye". It's a nerve-wrecking gamble. Cross my fingers.

The most amazing Spanish fashion photographer Javier Vallhonrat. Remember when I first encountered his work through the Graphis Nudes book about 15 years ago. His only one photograph in the book made such a strong impact on me. Since then he became one of my all time most inspirational photographers in my life. The way that he lit the models and the environment has a language of it own. The shimmering monochromatic finish of the make-up gives a "dawn light" look. I take a wild guess that he used kino-flo or HMI with gel for the lightings.
